This title is this site’s main message/slogan: “We are not all created equal.” It is an external reference to the Declaration of Independence, where it states, “All men are created equal...”. However, this is not the case. About 97.3 million Americans fall into a low-income category, and together with the other 49.1 million that fall below the poverty line, this, in total, accounts for 146.4 million, nearly 48% of the US population. Besides these striking statistics, about 27% of the people requiring emergency aid did not receive it. With poverty rising steadily, it directly leads to other problems, such as hunger and improper medical care (ObamaCare). Yet, why, is poverty such a widespread issue that nearly no one knows about? Poverty in America deserves some awareness. More people need to see how big of an issue poverty really is. The numbers are overwhelming in general. Join the "Problems with Poverty" today, and we'll band together to combat the many issues with those less fortunate. Sign this petition to advocate for the battle against poverty today!
